Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Dublin | Hybrid | Permanent

Our client, a growing medical device company, is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop firmware for next-generation connected, battery-powered devices. You’ll join a small, hands-on engineering team with real ownership of the product, from design through to verification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded C firmware on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Develop BLE functionality, ideally using the Nordic nRF Connect SDK.
• Build ultra-low-power firmware for battery-powered devices.
• Develop bootloaders, OTA updates and secure boot features.
• Work with Zephyr or FreeRTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Support board bring-up and hardware/software integration with the hardware team.
• Produce design documentation and verification evidence in a regulated environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years’ embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong embedded C on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Hands-on BLE development experience.
• Experience with Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
• Experience designing low-power firmware.
• Strong debugging skills with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes and logic analysers.

Nice to Have

• Medical device experience (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
• Nordic nRF52/nRF53 experience.
• Python for test automation; Git and CI/CD.
